Air Force Reserve Officer Jobs – Only US citizens with an Air Force ID. Some career options require certain educational qualifications (such as a bachelor’s degree, specialization). Candidates for the commission must also have a suitable body and good character.
Typically, men and women earn their commissions through the United States Air Force Academy, the Air Force Reserve Training Corps (AFROTC) or the Officer Training School (OTS). Individuals in some professions can earn direct commissions without participating in one of the above referral programs.
Air Force Reserve Officer Jobs
Located at the foot of the Rocky Mountains near Colorado Springs, Colo., the Air Force Academy annually accepts approximately 1,200 young men and women into its four-year program. Graduates receive a Bachelor of Science and Air Force Commission. The program is very strong, with a well-balanced curriculum that includes physical and social sciences, humanities and mathematics. In addition, the school provides students with a background in aviation through courses such as astronomy and aeronautical engineering. Admission to the Air Force Academy is usually done through a nomination from a U.S. Senator or Representative, but there are other ways to gain admission.
Air Force Rotc
AFROTC provides college students with a unique opportunity to earn a commission while completing their degree. AFROTC offers two-year and four-year programs at more than 750 colleges and universities. You apply for the four-year AFROTC program by simply enrolling in aerospace school at the same time you enroll for your other freshman classes. You can apply for the two-year AFROTC program if you have at least two years in your undergraduate career.

High school students interested in a four-year scholarship must apply at the end of their junior year or the beginning of their senior year of high school. Undergraduate and graduate students can apply by contacting the professor of aerospace studies at their college or university.
