What I really loved about HR was connecting with people, but I found that strategic initiatives in HR really have a long-term game. Generally speaking, in HR you work with slightly less concrete concepts. You work with things like “morale” or try to improve employee engagement in general. It is difficult to measure. I found it not very clear. And I find that difficult, especially at this point in my career. But when I discovered resource management, I saw that it was really clear—it was more goal-oriented. “This face is not planned. And now they’re fixed”. It’s very cut and dry; your actions have an immediate impact on consumption and performance. It gave me the satisfaction and motivation I needed. But you can still enjoy the human side – you can connect with people on a personal level, understand where they’re coming from, their Understand career goals and make them happen.
