Fort McCoy, Wisconsin – Staff Sgt. On a cool, overcast September afternoon, Benjamin Latham rose from his chair and stood among his colleagues and superiors, who gave him enthusiastic applause. His famous “Team 7” teammates used their signature “Happy! Success!
Spectators, often dressed in ornate military uniforms, laughed in disbelief as they heard his name called many times that afternoon. However, this time will be the most important. Standing in front of the crowd, he approached Command Sgt. Colonel Andrew Lombar learned that he had overcome another major obstacle in his life. Latham beat out all other competitors to be named the 2020 Reserve Warrior of the Year as the Sergeant Major winner.
